Although WordPress has a lot of imitators, the ecosystem of the platform has been very large and occupies an absolute dominant position. So far, a total of 58000 plug-ins and 8000 templates have been provided on this platform. At the same time, many individuals and organizations rely on the sale of website templates designed by themselves on WordPress to gain income, but at present, WordPress's own engine is still the most widely used and well-known.
The research institution W3Techs collected the data of the world's top 10 million websites from Alexa and the list of the top 1 million websites from Tranco, and so on, so as to obtain statistical data. The results show that the number of WordPress driven sites has increased from 10 million in 2011 to 40 million today, and the platform accounts for 64.3% of the CMS market. The proportion of blog websites worldwide using WordPress reached 92.2%, followed by news websites with 87.1%.
