Hello, everyone. Recently, I have been researching an independent "online education website", and I want to make my own tutorial a "home". After several days of model selection, a set of technical scheme was finally determined, which is free of charge.
“WordPress+Elementor+Astra+Tutor LMS”
Last time, I posted an article comparing three mainstream WordPress LMS plug-ins: "LifterLMS, LearnDash, and LearnPress". In the end, none of these three plug-ins were selected, because
1. LearnDash does not support lifelong purchase. It is expensive and has complete functions, but most of the functions are useless.
2. LearnPress is free and has many users, but its reputation is not good.
3. The free version of LifterLMS is too streamlined to use most of the functions in the paid expansion package.
Yesterday, a student in the group recommended Tutor LMS. I tested the free version and found that the function of "paid member subscription" was very strange. Later, I chatted with the official customer service of Tutor and said that the free version could meet my needs, but some operations needed to be manual. In addition, the "paid member subscription" mode has been determined. As I investigated, the paid version is required.
My needs are relatively simple. I don't need the payment function, and even Woocommerce is saved. The membership function is allocated manually. This streamlined scheme is sufficient with the free version of Tutor LMS.
The Tutor LMS system was launched last year, which is a rising star. It is not as famous as the three mentioned above, but the functions and interfaces of Tutor LMS are all OK. It even supports LMS platform settlement, application to become a teacher, course creation, cash withdrawal, etc.
This plug-in has a free version and a paid version. The paid version supports annual payment and lifelong buyout. There is no worry in the future.
About the independent online education website, I have introduced three articles in total, so I'll call here and see you next time.
