The site selection of the charging station is a key link to determine whether the investment in this project is profitable, and the site selection is also an issue that the station owners pay close attention to. There is an unwritten saying that the site selection of a charging station mostly determines the success or failure of the project. The good or bad site selection will directly affect the future development of the charging station. In addition to personal factors, site selection is the most important part in the process of building the charging station.
The decision-making process of site selection is complex and tedious, and it is difficult to adjust once it is selected due to the high proportion of costs. The location selection needs to consider many factors, such as population size, competition level, traffic convenience, number of parking spaces, characteristics of nearby charging stations, cost of station construction, contract duration, legal provisions, etc. If you are not careful, you may fall into a hole.
Therefore, in the process of site selection, we need to be principled. Whether the charging station attributes match the site location, we need to screen the location according to the charging station location. Recently, I specially asked our partner in charge of site selection for advice, and sorted out some tips on site selection of charging stations. Let's have a look.
Consider the geographical location nearby
When choosing the address of the charging station, it is necessary to consider some business districts with concentrated passenger flow, places easy to find by navigation, etc., such as railway stations, bus stations, logistics parks and other areas where passenger and logistics vehicles are concentrated. Or large shopping malls, commercial centers and other areas where taxis and online car hailing are concentrated. In these areas located in the thermal zone, it is easier to make profits with more demand for charging, and it is easier to recover the cost of investment.
Consider whether parking is convenient nearby
Convenient parking is very important for the charging station, otherwise it will cause a series of problems such as difficult charging and long queue. Parking spaces should be controllable and manageable, and oil tankers should be avoided. The electricity price should also have advantages. It is better to choose the one that can set up a parking lot, or purchase a floor lock to link with the charging pile, so as to avoid vehicle occupation.
Consider nearby supporting facilities
Whether there is a rest area, toilet, restaurant, etc. nearby to ensure that new energy owners can meet the needs of dining, leisure and entertainment when charging, these seemingly small links are often crucial.
Carefully select residential quarters
If you can choose the ground, don't choose the underground. Choose carefully at the entrance of the community. Building a charging station at the entrance of the community is easy to cause opposition from the property and owners of the community, and also easy to generate various security risks. It is better to choose a site more than 100 meters away from the residential area to avoid noise, radiation and complaints.
Consider choosing land with clear property rights
The nature of land should be industrial, commercial or construction land, and the nature of agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry and fishery should not be chosen! The lease term signed shall be as long as possible, generally 8-10 years.
Try to choose sites with low investment and construction costs
The price of transformer will double your investment cost. It is also recommended to choose a site with electricity price advantage that can adopt new energy electricity price or peak valley electricity price.
Address with good drainage system considered
Because the charging pile is an electrified device, if the drainage is improper, it is likely to have leakage, which will cause serious harm. The drainage of the place where the charging pile is installed should be kept unobstructed, and the site with higher terrain can be selected to avoid ponding. It shall not be located in low-lying places and places where water may accumulate, so as to avoid the circuit board and other sensitive elements contacting with water during later use, which may lead to vehicle failure or electric shock.
Consider local policies
Of course, there are also charging station investors and operators who want to build charging stations in other parts of the country. When they are struggling with the location, they will never make mistakes in following the policy. Understanding the subsidy policies in different regions and choosing the regions where the charging infrastructure related bonus policies are newly introduced is also one of the considerations for site selection.
Finally, the site selection of the station is extremely important and needs to be careful. During the construction of the station, it is also necessary to meet certain fire protection requirements and consider the corresponding anti-collision facilities. Of course, the above conditions do not have to be met to build an investment charging station, but to meet them as far as possible, maximize the advantages of the charging station, so as to reduce investment and increase revenue.
Although there is no absolute standard for the quality of site selection, for the first time, we should try to avoid possible hidden dangers and reduce the operational risks caused by site selection. Although site selection is important, it is not an absolute factor, and later operation is also very important. I hope this sharing can be of some help to my friends and find a suitable and promising high-quality charging station
