With superb computer technology, blackmail shopping websites transferred more than 150000 yuan. On July 4, Rugao Procuratorate of Jiangsu Province initiated a public prosecution of the case. Recently, the court sentenced Mr. Li to seven years' imprisonment for the crime of destroying the computer information system, and ordered him to return all his illegal gains.
"More than 150000 yuan, less than half an hour. Now these people who buy wine come to me to ask for goods or refund money, but these goods are not the trading products released by our platform. Police comrades, you must help me catch criminals!" On the afternoon of January 24, Rugao Public Security Bureau received a report from Feng.
Feng is the legal representative of an alcohol sales company. In order to broaden the company's business channels, he has found someone to build an online shopping platform to trade alcohol products. On the day of the crime, a buyer contacted Mr. Feng, saying that the transaction on the platform just now was abnormal, and the platform was late to confirm the transaction order after receiving the payment for goods.
When Mr. Feng opened the shopping platform, he found that more than 100 kinds of alcohol products were suddenly added to the platform at more than two o'clock in the afternoon, and the transaction amount and collection account number were inconsistent with those set by his company. More than 30 buyers had already paid for transactions. Seeing this, Feng quickly closed the platform and gave an alarm.
After analysis and judgment, the police quickly locked down the suspect Li and informed him to go to the police station for questioning. On February 28, after hiding the tools of the crime, Li surrendered to Rugao Public Security Bureau.
It turned out that Li, who only had a junior high school degree, was interested in computer network technology and taught himself about network security and technology, but he did not use the knowledge he learned on the right path. In 2017, Mr. Li was sentenced to five years' imprisonment by the court for destroying the computer information system because he attacked the government website and extorted money from the government with others. However, Li, who was released after serving his sentence, did not repent and soon set foot on the road of crime again.
In April 2021, Mr. Li learned about the criminal method of "platform surfing" from a hacker through overseas online chat software. The so-called "Internet platform" is to trick buyers into paying by searching for network vulnerabilities, attacking the shopping platform, falsely adding goods, and setting the platform collection account as a designated account. In the process of communicating with hackers, Li learned that Feng's online shopping platform had been cracked by hackers and there were loopholes, so he wanted to start from Feng's shopping platform.
In order to avoid being investigated for legal responsibility, Mr. Li first used a false identity, registered a normal user account with his mobile phone number, and checked the website operation mode on the platform. Later, Mr. Li contacted others on the overseas online chat software to help register VPN (virtual private network), and asked others to register the platform account and bind the bank card to receive the buyer's money. In the early morning of January 24, 2022, Mr. Li hid his real IP address, attacked the website through hacker technology, obtained the account name and password of the backstage administrator, logged in the backstage product to launch a new segment, launched more than 100 new products, and set the collection account as the designated account.
After his arrest, Mr. Li thought that his mobile phone and computer had been destroyed, and the judicial authorities must have nothing to do with him, so he refused to plead guilty. The case handling prosecutor intervened in the case in advance, and put forward more than 20 guiding investigation opinions around the investigation of Li, the only attacker in the time period of the crime, to further consolidate the evidence base. In the court, in the face of the prosecutor's evidence, Li finally bowed his head and admitted his criminal facts. The court made the above judgment after hearing.
